If your Magento throws error after installing your Extension and you don't know how to resolve it then you can Disable installed Extension. You can do this by going to your Magento Root Directory and then goto “app/etc/modules”. There you find your Extension file (XML format), something like that “Excellence_Extensionname”.

For disabling it, you can do the following:

  1. Just rename “Excellence_Extensionname.xml” to “Excellence_Extensioname.backup” and you are done.

  2. Or open that file and you will see the content like that:

     <config>
             <modules>
                     <Excellence_Slider>
                         <active>true</active>
                         <codePool>community</codePool>
                     </Excellence_Slider>
             </modules>
     </config>

To disable this extension, change

  <active>true</active>

To

  <active>false</active>

And save the file.

If this eliminates or affects the issue that we’re trying to solve, then we have made progress and now know where to look for the specific cause of the issue.
